Dr. Steven Rego is a seasoned bilingual clinical social worker with over two decades of experience in psychotherapy, assessment, and crisis intervention. Licensed in New Jersey, and Florida, and certified as a school social worker, Dr. Rego brings a comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to mental health care.
Dr. Rego’s clinical expertise spans trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns, with specialized training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). He has worked extensively with veterans, survivors of interpersonal violence, and individuals navigating chronic emotional stressors.
In his work providing assessments for Emotional Support Animal (ESA) documentation, Dr. Rego applies his clinical knowledge to ensure accurate, ethical, and supportive evaluations. Each assessment is grounded in a thorough understanding of the client’s psychological needs and in compliance with current legal and professional guidelines.
Dr. Rego holds a doctorate in Clinical Sexology from the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes and is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR), and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA).
